Prepac is a successful designer and manufacturer of functional and stylish RTA (ready to assemble) home furniture. They maintain a "just in time" inventory and usually ship all orders within 2 business days. Their advanced systems predict seasonal and demand trends insuring stock is always available.
Prepac Manufacturing was founded in 1979 by Steve Simpson, the company's CEO and President. Prepac Manufacturing is a state-of-the-art manufacturer of home furnishings and storage products with its main manufacturing factory located in the heart of the forest-rich West Coast.
In the early 1980s, Prepac launched its first Ready to Assemble (RTA) storage products into the Home Center industry. Success rapidly followed and by 1984 the company began producing national RTA storage programs. In 2005 the company made a significant investment in a new facility which has taken production, technology, manufacturing and distribution to a new level. This investment has helped solidify Prepac's position as the leader in cost competitive, "quick-ship" RTA inventory management for its customers.
Product Features and Construction
All of their products combine stylish designs with function and affordability. They are made from a combination of Engineered Woods, MDF, Particleboard, Plywood and Solid Wood components. All products offer traditional Prepac quality features such as 5/8" thick components, Cam Lock, Dowel and Confirmat assembly, and high quality hardware.
Q. What are Engineered Woods?
A. Engineered Wood is a mixture of high quality, hard and soft wood materials which generally come from the surplus of the original lumber processing. Commonly referred to as MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and Particle Board, these materials are wood fibers bonded together with a synthetic resin in a process that combines high heat and pressure to make a very stable, product. The result is dense, strong panels of fiberboard and/or particleboard which are then laminated with durable, attractive finishes. These materials are then further manufactured into furniture components in a precision, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Components are inspected and packaged with high quality, European hardware that ensures home assembly is quick and easy.
Q. What is a Hybrid product?
A. A Hybrid combines Solid and Engineered Woods to give you a product with the look and feel of a Solid Wood product, but with the affordability and stability usually afforded only with composite woods.
